LōD is a grid-aware energy optimization platform built to help energy-intensive data centers transform energy from a cost into a strategic advantage. Our mission is to provide operators with clarity, adaptability, and automation that reduce costs, ensure compliance, and unlock new revenue opportunities.
Rooted in years of hands-on experimentation and shaped by community trust, LōD has grown into a transparent, modular system that aligns infrastructure with real-time grid conditions. We exist not to impose rigid systems, but to empower operators with tools that adapt to their world and strengthen the energy grid for the future.
A small group of engineers begins exploring digital infrastructure and energy, driven by curiosity and the challenge of building smarter systems.
Through trial, error, and persistence, the team develops custom setups, mastering the complex relationship between computing and energy.
The Lincoin mining pool goes live. Built on community feedback and rapid iteration, it becomes a trusted hub for operators worldwide.
With infrastructure facing both market cycles and energy volatility, the team begins asking a deeper question: how can data centers integrate more intelligently with the grid?
The idea of LōD takes shape as an energy intelligence platform designed to provide operators with real-time visibility, grid alignment, and actionable cost control.
Cholla Inc. becomes one of the first adopters, fully implementing the beta platform and accelerating product development with feedback and collaboration.
LōD expands to over 100 sites across Texas and the world, while securing larger customers, marking a major milestone in adoption. Additionally, workload management energy strategies start to be developed.
LōD empowers flexible data centers to optimize risk, cost, and compliance while strengthening grid reliability. At the same time, new features for AI datacenters emerge, shaping the future of how AI computing interacts with energy.
It all started in an unlikely place in 2013, when Bitcoin was still new and difficult to access. Buying Bitcoin was not straightforward; the process was confusing, and reliable platforms were scarce. However, for the small group that would later form LōD, this challenge ignited their curiosity. They didn’t just want to hold Bitcoin; they aimed to understand, contribute to, build upon, and mine it!
As the years passed, their interest deepened. They delved into the mechanics of mining and started building their hardware setups to participate in the network. This was not an easy task. Everything required learning from scratch, technical setups, network tuning, and energy considerations. However, through persistence and experimentation, they eventually overcame these challenges.
By 2021, their efforts culminated in the launch of Lincoin, a mining pool created with a technical mindset and a strong sense of community. It was never solely about running machines; it revolved around creating effective tools, listening to users, and rapidly implementing improvements. Lincoin flourished through trust, and its Telegram community became a hub where operators shared insights, provided feedback, and contributed to shaping new features.
That same year, Bitcoin reached a peak, followed by a significant drop. As revenues declined, the team began asking deeper questions. “Could we build something that assisted operators in navigating not just market cycles but also energy dynamics?” “What if we could offer more value, not only in mining but also in how infrastructure integrates with the grid!?”
In 2022, those questions forged the foundation for a new set of tools focused on Grid Intelligence and Operations Management. The goal was to provide operators with visibility and control, not only over performance metrics but also regarding how their energy usage aligned with grid conditions, compliance programs, and cost-saving opportunities.
In early 2023, the beta version was launched. Cholla Inc. was among the first companies to adopt it, fully implementing the system and quickly becoming a close collaborator and advocate. Their trust, feedback, and referrals played a key role in accelerating development and opening new opportunities.
As the platform matured, LōD began operating at over 20 sites across Texas. In early 2024, after nearly two years of discussions, Bitfarms officially joined as a customer. This partnership marked a significant milestone and reinforced the value of what we had built.
Throughout this journey, one thing remained constant: the role of the Lincoln community and organic growth, thanks to word of mouth and success stories. Lincoin continues to operate today and remains the foundation from which LōD emerged. The support, insights, and honest feedback from miners played a crucial role in shaping LōD’s features. This spirit of collaboration shaped LōD’s core values: honesty in product communication, humility in its evolution, and transparency in how users interact with their infrastructure. LōD does not impose rigid systems on operators; instead, it provides them with tools to adapt and optimize on their terms.
Today, LōD serves flexible data centers and flexible loads that require clarity, adaptability, and deeper integration with the grid. It continues to grow, not through hype, but through relationships, reliability, and results.
At its core, LōD is driven by a profound love for supporting and improving the energy grid, an understanding of Bitcoin as a catalyst for innovation in energy and computing, and a belief that meaningful impact comes from helping infrastructurerun smarter, not just faster.
That is why we empower flexible data centers with grid-aware energy intelligence, optimized for risks, costs, and compliance.
The future of energy is flexible, and LōD is here to make that a reality.
